Comparison of the effect of cognitive - behavioral therapy and cognitive behavior therapy with spiritual approach on depression, anxiety symptoms and rate of relapse in self-referral addicts
The objective of this research study is a randomized clinical trial with control group. Compare the effect of cognitive behavior therapy - rich with culture and religious teachings and cognitive behavior therapy to reduce depression, anxiety, and relapse rates of opioid-dependent patients.
Inclusion criteria: individuals who, based on clinical interview and the Diagnostic and Statistical Mental Disorders criteria (America Psychiatric Association) affiliated with one of the opioid compounds (substance abuse) that had depression and anxiety. If you had missed three sessions of the study were excluded
The study population was patients: the addiction treatment center for addiction treatment Welfare visited the city of Yazd. And among them 30 people who were entering the main criteria were randomized into three treatment groups. The first group (Group cognitive behavioral therapy - with a religious attitude), the second group (group cognitive - behavioral) the third group (control group). Group cognitive behavioral protocols for enriched with spiritual and religious learning, cognitive-behavioral protocol commonly performed for the second group, each group of 8 had a 2-hour group therapy session.
The findings showed: Cognitive behavior therapy with a spiritual approach and cognitive - behavioral therapy compared to control group in reducing depression, anxiety has been effective. But spirituality-based therapy in reducing depression, anxiety, and prevention of recurrence has been more effective.
