Eٍٍٍٍٍducational counseling based on Health Belief Model on knowledge and practices on breast cancer screening among women above 40years old in Hamadan 2015
Breast cancer is the leading cancer among Iranian women. However, the rate of breast cancer screening is low in Iranian women. This study aims to examine the use of the health belief model in enhancing women’s breast cancer beliefs and screening behaviours in Hamadan, Iran.
Methods: A multi-stage random sampling will be used for selection of women.144 women from selected health care centres in the Hamadan will be selected in year 2015. Using a questionnaire data will collect on demographic background, knowledge, beliefs on breast cancer based on HBM and practices on breast cancer screening (BCS). Data will analysis using SPSS package version 16. The result will show how women's beliefs and knowledge play roles for breast cancer screening.

Inclusion criteria: age>40 years; no history of breast cancer; no history of underwent breast's biopsy; no positive history of breast cancer in first degree relatives (mother, sister, daughter).
Exclusion criteria: lack of attending in breast cancer prevention education; pregnancy; breast feeding.

Description
After completing consent form by participants. In the intervention group educational program in four sections (one hour) in the small groups (5-7 persons). Education contains breast cancer definition, sign and symptoms of breast cancer, risk factors of breast cancer, breast cancer problems and screening for breast cancer. Evaluation will be done before, immediately after, one month and tree months after intervention.
