With the development of regional anesthetic techniques, in addition to reducing the number of cases of general anesthesia, patients were more satisfied with the surgery and the anesthesia techniques. Infra-clavicular regional local anesthesia techniques including low morbidity and a high level of acceptance by patients, is one of the most widely used method, especially in the upper extremity surgery. Both simple and multiple injection techniques were used in different studies eventhough the Superiority of anyone compared to the other is controversial. The aim of this study was to compare single and multiple injection methods in infraclavicular local anesthesia. This study is designed as a randomized controlled double-blinded trial and were performed on two groups of 20 patients who underwent upper extremity surgery In Beast medical Center of Hamedan. Patients, 15-70 years old, were randomly divided into two study groups, and After localizing the axillary artery under an ultrasound Guide, regional anesthesia with lidocaine 1.5%, either posteriorly simple or multiple injections around artery were done. Within 5-15, 30 minutes and one hour after blocks, the amount of pain on a visual analog scale (VAS) in two groups were measured and compared. Also, the procedure time, anesthesia time to complete anesthesia, the number of cases of complete anesthesia, the number of cases that are in need of additional anesthesia, patient and doctor satisfaction conducting the study were been compared in the two groups.
