Protocol summary

Summary
The objective of this study was to assess the effect of Simvastatin on the inflammatory factors and GFR of patients with chronic renal failure. 40 patients with chronic renal failure aged between 15 and 70, GFR between 20 and 70 and LDL more than were divided to two groups. Intervention group received Simvastatin 20 mg daily and control groups didn’t receive any treatment. Lipid profile (cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL, and HDL), inflammatory markers (IL-6, CRP, and HS) and renal function (GFR, BUN, and creatinin) were measured and compared between two groups.
