This study examined the efficacy of social cognitive development of children's sand play therapy was educable mentally retardation. This study entry criteria, with an IQ of 50 to 70 educable mental disability and exclusion criteria, and other students with special needs and the criteria for entry in the study, were in order. The subjects were all students were allowed special schools in Isfahan. The samples consisted of 32 male and female students are learning, the 16 subjects in the experimental group (8 females, 8 males) and 16 controls (8 females, 8 males) were randomly selected. Then sand play therapy as an intervention method in the first round of the year 2007 was conducted on rats. The social cognition in the two groups were compared.
