To investigate the impact of educational program on enhancing social participation of 60-74 year- old members of Neighborhood Centers for the Elderly of Tehran
Aim of study: Evaluating the effectiveness of intervention based on predicting model of social participation immediately after intervention and six months later
Inclusion criteria: relatively healthy old people aged 60-74; residing in Tehran; member of Neighborhood Centers for the Elderly
Exclusion criteria: disability in doing daily activities; having heart failure≥ class II; having obstructive pulmonary disease; being under treatment of cancer in the last five years
Population study is relatively healthy old people aged 60-74 living in Tehran and are member of Neighborhoods Centers for the Elderly
Sample size is 232; 116 in intervention group and 116 in control group
In intervention group,the following measures will be done: holding educational classes in order to increase social support, self efficacy, self regulation and organizing networks between the elderly
The time of study will be from 2015/5/5 to 2016/3/5
Outcome of study: increasing social participation of the elderly

A cross sectional study will be done before the intervention. In second stage of the study, 22 regions of Tehran will be divided into 5 regions: north, south, east, west and center. From each region two elderly centers will be selected as intervention group and two as Control group randomly. The other two will be selected among elderly centers randomly.
