The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of group logotherapy on the increase of hope in patients with leukemia at Golestan hospital of Ahvaz. The statistical population was composed of all patients with leukemia attending at Golestan hospital in the autumn in 2012 who responded to Snyder’s Hope Scale. The statistical sample was some referees from whom 20 individuals, who got the lowest scores in Snyder hope scale, were selected as the statistical sample and then randomly put into two experimental and control groups including 10 individuals in each ones. The research design was a pre- post- and follow up tests with control group. The experimental group received10-sessions of group counseling through logotherapy; however, the control group did not receive any specific training. Afterwards, on both experimental and control groups the test was implemented, in the next stage after a lapse of one month, a follow-up hope scale was administered in order to assess the permanency of received training. To analyze the data, the Covarieance method was applied and Cronbach alpha method was used to measure reliability coefficient.
