This study aims at investigating the effect of education based on Health Belief Model on practices preventing nosocomial infections in nurses. The design of the study is pre-test post-test quasi-experimental design. The sample of study is one hundred nurses who are selected based on simple random sampling and are assigned to intervention group (n=50) and control group (n=50) randomly. The data are gathered via a researcher-made questionnaire whose validity and reliability are assured in advance. The inclusion criterion is having diploma, BSc, or MSc in nursing and midwifery, and the exclusion criterion is unwillingness to participate in the study. The educational intervention for the intervention group is done via holding an interactive educational seminar, presenting an educational brochure, and a month later via a multimedia as a reminder. The control group receive their routine education. The primary out come measure is compliance with standard precautions.
