Observing the principles of the clinical audit on doing of urinary catheterization in patients referring to the general operating room of Imam Khomeini (RA) hospital
This is a randomized controlled trial study that was conducted to evaluate the effect of clinical audit process on the principles of catheterization skill in nurses working in General operating room of Imam Khomeini (RA) Hospital in 2015. At first, nurses were randomly allocated in two groups of intervention (audit exercise) and control (routine). All the nurses working in the operating room (50 in the intervention group and 50 in the control group) recruited by census methods. Inclusion criteria include all cases of urinary catheterization in the operating room. Exclusion criteria were emergency catheterization and urinary abnormal anatomical conditions of the people. The intervention was conducted via implementation of the five-stages clinical audit process in the intervention group (to determine the appropriate standard to evaluate the situation, comparing the current situation with the standards, apply changes and do again previous four steps to ensure the quality improvement process). Samples, before and after the intervention, were examined about taken urinary catheterization. Intervention to Changes in the intervention group was conducted as group and personal Education. for detection of nursing skills in three stages: before, during and after urinary catheterization, (pre- and post-intervention), the standard Check list of Nursing Organization of Iran was used.

Description
Intervention group:
In the first, clinical audit includes assessment of catheterization skills, compare to the standards, extract weaknesses for a month in the operating room by researcher will be done. Then face to face training regarding the standards of catheterization, for 45 minutes will be given to all under study personnel and during next month, re-evaluation skills of catheterization will be done.
