Investigation of correct application of ventilators` humidifier systems before and after nursing education in Intensive Care Units in Karaj Shahid madani
The aim of this study is assessment of correct application of ventilators` humidifier systems before and after nursing education in Intensive Care Units. the type of this study is longitudinal interventional prospective and will be double blinded in design. inclusion criteria is ICU nurses, ventilators that will be connect to patients and exclusion criteria is nurses other than ICU nurses and silent ventilators . study population will be all ventilators that connect to patients. sample size will be 654 ventilators that connected to patients and 70 nurse. at the first phase researcher with accidental presentation in research environment assess ventilator`s humidifier systems. these assessment will be include: existing of humidifier, existing of sterile water in humidifier`s container, existing of connective tubes, connection of humidifier to respiratory circuit and connection of humidifier to inspiratory arm. the resulting data record at checklist that was designed for this purpose. at the second phase researcher will educates the ICU nurses, without previous advice about study, in title " ventilator`s humidifier systems and their correct application". duration of this education program will be 4 hours in 2 consequence days. at the third phase, researcher for evaluate the effect of nurses education on correct humidifiers application, Similar to first phase, will be assess ventilator`s humidifier systems and the resulting data will record at checklist.

Nurses education: After primary assessment of ventilator`s humidifiers, nurses will be educated about correct application of humidifiers and then will be evaluated the education program effect on them.
