Protocol summary

Summary
This study aims at investigating the effect of education based on Health Belief Model on practices preventing of accidents and injuries in children. The design of the study is pre-test post-test quasi-experimental design. The study population was the mothers with at least one child under five years old who had medical recode in the selected health centers in Khorramabad. Sample size was equal to 112 mothers with at least one under five year child that multi-stage random was used to selected based on simple random sampling and are assigned to intervention group (n=56) and control group (n=56) randomly. The data are gathered via a standard questionnaire whose validity and reliability are assured in advance. Inclusion criteria:women with children under 5 year's old.literate mothers. Exclusion criteria: unwillingness to participate in the study; the absence of training sessions. The educational intervention for the intervention group is done via holding an interactive educational seminar, presenting an Educational booklet as a reminder. The control group receive their routine education. The primary outcome: The prevention of accidents and injuries in children. The Secondary outcomes:Increase knowledge,change attitude, improve practice.
