Comparing the effect of education based and routine care on theory of planned behavior on Practices Preventing urinary infection in pregnant women referred to health centers of karaj
This study aims at investigating the effect of education based on theory of planned behavior on practices preventing urinary tract infection in pregnant women referred to health centers of karaj. This study is a randomized controlled clinical trial (RCT) and stage sampling method was used to select simple random sampling and are assigned to intervention and control groups.The sample of study is 110 pregnant women (intervention group (n=55) and control group (n=55) randomly). The data are gathered via a researcher-made questionnaire whose validity and reliability are assured in advance. Inclusion criterion: women in the first trimester, their consent to participate in the study and a study center for health records, no history of urinary tract infection. Exclusion criterion: emigration, abortion, lack of satisfactory participation in the study and the continuing absence of pregnant women in training sessions (absence of more than one session). The educational intervention for the intervention group is group discussions and lectures during the three training sessions, each lasting 60 minutes and presenting an educational brochure. The control group receive their routine education. The primary outcome measure is prevention of urinary tract infection.
