The purpose of the study: The effect of cognitive-behavioral therapy on depression, life expectancy, and adjustment in patients with Hepatitis B .Independent variable: cognitive-behavioral therapy based on training. Dependent variable: Depression in patients with Hepatitis B. The life expectancy of patients with hepatitis B. Adjustment in patients with hepatitis B.
Research project: There are experiment and control groups, since that the control group was matched with test group and appointment of the members of the control group wasn't randomly, so its a quasi- experimental study.
The study of population: The study of population in this research included the patients with hepatitis B (25-40 years old)in the city of Mashhad(1391 under the Institute of Patient with liver diseases Mashhad ) that have depression simultaneity on the basis of DSM-IV-TR and low level of life expectancy(according to scores obtained in the hope Schneider Test),low degree of compatibility(according to scores obtain in the compatibility Bell test).
Sample and sampling methods: The population included 28 women in the sample were selected purposely in order to access and control experiments were divided in two groups of 14 subjects.
Execution method: The study was performed on patients with hepatitis B and then two groups, formed their own control and experimental . After the formation of briefings for both groups and the testing of depression, hope Schneider,compatibility Bell, diagnosis of depression, loss of hope,loss adjustment in control group and experimental group was formed 10 sessions about 120 minute (based on cognitive-behavioral approach) and for the control group were given 10 sessions of 120 minutes on life skills.

Entry criteria: Patients with Hepatitis B; ages 15 to 50; patients who are able to attend meetings; patients of both sexes.
Exclusion criteria: Younger than 15 and older than 50; patients with Hepatitis C,A,D; patients who have poor health and unable to attend meeting; location distance compared to the venue.
