This experimental study was performed on 92 patients referred to Mehran Health Center in both experimental and control groups. Sampling was done on available samples according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Inclusion criteria were reside in the Mehran city and the age between 18 to 65 years. The research goals and anonymity of data gathered had been explained for the participants. Then they have completed the questionnaire containing information about demographic characteristics, awareness of Cutaneous Leishmaniasis, attitudes of Cutaneous Leishmaniasis and preventive behaviors, subjective norms to use preventive methods of Cutaneous Leishmaniasis, intention behavior, enabling factors and behavior of Cutaneous Leishmaniasis and they were asked to perform a pretest. After analyzing the pretest, the training was developed and then carried out for the case group according to the BASNEF model in the form of 4 lectures along with the distribution of health pamphlets, a group discussion and demonstration. The content of the sessions was developed based on the objectives of the study and the results of the pre-test. One month after implementing the intervention for the case group, post-test was performed in both groups.

Description
Intervention group: an educational plan based on BASNEF model was held for people in the case group. This program included one focus group to improve their attitude toward the prevention of disease lasted for 45 minutes; two oral lecture and one practical session was held to practice the useful behaviors were taught for enhancing the enabling factors; and two oral lecture were held to enhance their subjective norms, one for their important family member, and the other for health workers.
