The effect of telephone follow-up and educational program on the quality of life and patient satisfaction in three groups: telephone follow-up, present education and control
Abstract
Object: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of telephone-up of educational programs on quality of life and patient satisfaction in acute coronary syndrome .
Methods: In this clinical trial 90 patient whit according to inclusion criteria: having acute coronary syndrome, 25-70years old, informational consent, accidently in three groups were considered. MAC NEW Questionnaire and satisfaction form and demographic form were used for gathering the information. Both educational and telephone follow-up group received three educational session related to cardiovascular disease (each session 30 min) during their hospital time whit educational booklet. For telephone follow-up group add education also 10 telephone contacts during two month after discharge for continuing educational program was done by researcher. The control groups do not receive any intervention MaC NEW questionnaires and satisfaction form specialized for CCU patients was used for measuring quality of life and patient satisfaction.

Inclusion criteria:diagnosis of Acute Coronary Syndrome; being 25-70- years old; hospitalized in department of heart or CCU; signing the informed consent form; the patient,s or relative ability to write and read; the patient s access to telephone; no hearing or speaking problem; speaking Persian, lori, laki; no pain; willingness to review the educational program; permission to make telephone calls after discharge; willingness to visit 2month after discharge; not suffering from mental disorder; exclusion criteria: no access to the patient after 2month; the patients unwilling to continue the study; the patient death; no more access to the patient; Change of telephone number and no response to telephone follow-up.
