This research is a semi-experimental study that was performed on 68 participants with coronary artery bypass graft surgery. Participants were selected purposfull and then randomly assigned to: interventional(34) and control group(34). Basic data was collected by Demografic Questionnaire and Depression Anxiety Stress Scale(DASS-21). Mean stress score before and after the intervention was measured. Analysis of data was computerized adopting SPSS 20 package software.

Inclusion/Exclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Participants scheduled for coronary artery bypass graft were recruited considering the following inclusion criteria; Ability to communicate with the researcher effectively during the initial interview; Willingness to participate in the research; being able to handle meetings and spiritual-religious interventions; Physical and mental fitness to answer the questions; At least, reading and writing ability; ability to speak Persian language and; being Muslim and Shia. Exclusion criteria: Frequent absences from meetings or with drawing from participation in the spiritual-religious care program; The patients who had low depression on pre test.

In the control group, stress was measured by a questionnaire. control group had routine nursing care that included routine medical and nursing care that post surgery is performed for all patients.
