The effect of the Positive Parenting Program on Mother-Child Relationship And The Feeling of Being a Parent in Mothers of Children With Externalizing Disorders
The effect of positive parenting education on improving the relationship between mother-child and parental feelings
Design
In this research, 60 mothers of children with externalized behavioral disorders were chosen purposefully and were randomly divided into two groups of control and intervention.
Settings and conduct
60 mothers of children with externalizing disorders who would like to participate in the study with entry criteria were selected.The intervention was organized as a weekly training session (Total of eight) two-hour, two months on Tuesday each week, 10-12 am in the educational class of Ibn Sina Hospital, as a group and were held in a group of 30 who were clustered into groups of 10 people.
Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria
1. Have the consent to participate in the study.
2. Do not work in medicine.
3. Be Iranian.
4. Reside in Mashhad.
5. Have at least elementary education.
6. Given the scale of abilities and problems and by diagnosis of a specialist psychiatrist, having a child aged 6 to 12 years diagnosed with externalizing disorders
7. Have a full family (The child lives with both parents).
8. Previously, they did not have a similar training programs.
9. According to the interview, the mother and father do not suffer from any major mental disorder requiring treatment (known).
10. According to medical file (Previous and new entry) the child is not affected by any other mental-psychological disorder.
11. Have a telephone number.
Intervention groups
Intervention and control groups, the positive parenting program for the intervention group and only routine training and previous prescribed medications for the control group.
Main outcome variables
Increasing mothers' acceptance and maturity,
Reducing mothers' embarrassment and frustration,
Reducing mothers' rejection to being more supportive.
