The aim of this clinical trial, not blinded study was to determine the effect of spouse education classes on quality of life and pregnancy outcomes in primiparous women referred to Shahrekord clinic of Hajar hospital. Pregnant women were allocated randomly by computer soft ware in two control (n=27) and intervention (n=31) groups. Inclusion criteria were primiparous women; gestational age of 20 weeks, and single pregnancy and exclusion criteria were previous history of marriage of man or woman, having psychiatry disorder, and having any pregnancy complication such as preeclampsia , intrauterine fetal death and preterm labor. Educational classes for pregnant women in two intervention and control groups held according to national guideline for physiologic delivery in 8 sessions every two weeks (each session 90 minutes). In intervention group, spouse of pregnant women participated in sessions three and eight concomitant their women. Quality of life questionnaire was completed in two groups before beginning the first session and 3 weeks after the eighth session. In addition, in two groups, pregnancy outcomes such as mother's weight gain, birth weight, type of delivery, gestational age, head circumference and neonatal apgar were assessed.
