The purpose of this investigation is to study the effectiveness of smoking prevention intervention with peer education approach on labor street children's attitude toward smoking. This study is a clinical trial without control group design with pre-test, post-test and a follow up (one month after intervention). Labor street children will be recruited with in a convenient sampling in Shoush and Naserkhosro Child Houses in Tehran. A six session intervention on smoking prevention education with peer education approach will be conducted. Scale of attitude toward smoking will be used to evaluate the attitude of labor street children before and after the intervention, and in one month follow up.

Inclusion/Exclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: aged at 12 to 18 years; willingness to participate in the study;
registered as the client of "Shoush Child House" or "Naserkhosro Child House";
not mentally retarded, unapt or borderline; spending at least 10 hours a week to work on the street.
Exclusion criteria: unwillingness to continue participating in the study; participate in less than 3 sessions of intervention.

Smoking prevention education sessions based on peer education approach: first session: primary introduction (45 minutes); second session: facts about smoking (45 minutes); third session: smoking harms (65 minutes); fourth session: pressures to smoke (60 minutes); fifth session: what’s in a cigarette and how does it affect (60 minutes); sixth session: passive smoking (45 minutes).
