Protocol summary

Summary
(1) Objectives: The present study is aimed to determine the effects of teaching critical thinking skills on decision making styles of nursing managers. (2) Design: The study population consisted of 60 nursing manager will be divided into two equal groups at random. (3) Setting and conduct: The interventional study is randomized, controlled trial that will conduct on 60 people of nursing managers into two groups (intervention and control). After obtaining consent, in the beginning of studying California Critical Thinking and General Decision Making questionnaires will complete by units. Critical thinking skills will be taught to intervention group. One week after training questionnaire will complete. (4) Participants including major eligibility criteria: Inclusion criteria ( Having graduate or master voucher; metron, supervisor, head nurse, incharg; male and female) Exclusion criteria: retirement; change of work location; put off participant; incomplete completion of questionnaire or undelivery. (5) Intervention: critical thinking skills will be taught to intervention group for 8 sessions 2 hours (4 theory sessions and 4 practical sessions) using pamphlets and workshope. (6) Main outcome measures : Decision making style will examine and compare by questionnaire.

Description
Intervention group 1: during 8 sessions 2 hours, during 4 weeks in theory and practical (totally 16 hours) will be taught. During 4 sessions theory general, definitions, principles and skills will be trained. During 4 practical sessions some problems of hospital will be analyzed and presented solution will be used in wards.
