The aim of this randomized clinical trial is to determine the effect of education on the quality of patient handover from paramedics to the emergency department staff . The study population consisted of 120 paramedics . The sample includes 80 paramedics that are selected by simple randomized method and allocated to the experimental and control group by block randomization. The intervention consisted of a four-hour training session about the importance and method of patient handover. Data are collected using a rating scale. So that 3 patient handovers by any paramedic are observed and documented before and after the intervention. Inclusion criteria are having an associate or higher degree in medical emergency, anesthesia, operating room or nursing and being interested in participation in the study. The exclusion criteria are having no interest in participating in the research and not to participate in the educational program.

Description
Intervention group: A 4-hours educational program will be held. Educational content include the importance and principles of patient handover, the importance of careful patient assessment and effective communication, the principles of proper emergency reporting and time management in patient handover.
