The purpose of this research is Comparing the effect of awareness of subtle control and education on the frequency rate of hand hygiene compliance in nurses of I.C.U of the selected hospital affiliated to Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. this research is a single blind and Quasi-experimental intervention. The population of this study is 48 employed nurses of I.C.U ward of Shahid Rajaee Hospital located in Shiraz City (24 people are included in Intervention Group and 24 people are included in control group). Sampling is carried out as Census Sampling. The samples are randomly divided to the intervention group and control group . The inclusion criterion is nurses who are working during the study and being satisfied to participate in this study and the exclusion criterion is the absence of participants in any stage of study. The form of hand hygiene observance suggested by World Health Organization is used in order to data collection before and after the intervention. This study is conducted in three stages : First Stage is the extent of the hand hygiene observance in control and intervention groups for 2 weeks ,while the personnel are not aware of subtle control, second stage is the education of control and intervention groups for 1 week, which includes face to face training, distribution of pamphlet,Installation posters in public places . Training topics are about nosocomical infections, the role of hand hygiene on the nosocomical infections, frequency and procedure and opportunities of hand hygiene compliance.
and third stage is the hand hygiene compliance observance of nurses in intervention group who are aware of the investigated subtle control and the nurses in control group who are not aware of the investigated subtle control for 1 month and then control and intervention groups will be compared.Simulated CCTV camera will be placed for intervention group. The primary out come measure is hand hygien compliance.
