Comparison the effect of role play and multimedia educational approach on breaking bad news skills based on SPIKES strategy in midwifery students in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences
The aim of this study was to compare the effects and multimedia and role play based educational on breaking bad news skill to the patient. Inclusion criteria consisted of spending a semester in clinical training, lack of emotional problems and lack of formal training course about breaking bad news. The study population included 99 midwifery students who were divided into three groups, two groups, under education approaches are multimedia and role play for 3 hours. There is no intervention in the control group. This study was conducted in November 1394. The primary outcome included the promotion of bad news skills in students in the intervention group than the control group.

Inclusion/Exclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: has hospital internship experience; no previous record of mental and psychological disorders; no bad news received in the last 3 months (death in the family, diagnosis with incurable diseases, self-disability or similar cases in the family); and no previous participation in courses or workshops regarding the skills of breaking bad news. Excluding criteria: receiving bad news in the period between entry and post-study phase; no participation in teaching processes or tests; using multimedia packages for less than 3 hours; Similar training courses in conjunction with this study; refusal and lack of interest.
