open bite is a kind of malocclusion which is treated very difficult and may cause esthetic, swallowing and speech problems.
The aim of this study is to treat patients with this malocclusion without surgery by premolar extraction.17 adult long face patients with mild to moderate overbite(0 to -5 mm)and Cl I or Cl II malocclusion were selected for this study.those patients who had previous Orthodontic treatment or had non-nutritive oral habits or more than 6 mm crowding were excluded from study. Patients will be treated by extraction of lower second premolars and orthodontics treatment .after the treatment, pretreatment and post treatment cephalometries will be analyzed and then Sum of Posterior angle,SNB,SN-MeGo angles will be checked for bite closure evaluation.

Inclusion/Exclusion criteria
inclusion criteria : Long Face Patient (Sum Of Bjork 394 to 400) ؛ Patients with SNA angle between 81 to 84 , SNB angle between 75to 79 and ANB angle between 2 to 6 degrees؛ Patients with Cl I or Cl II skeletal relationship ؛ Patients with normal or increased overjet(0 to +5 mm) and decreased overbite(0 to -5 mm)؛ patients with witt's value between -1 to+4 mm؛ patients with no special habits.
Exclusion criteria:Patients with previous orthodontic treatments؛ previous non-nutritive habits؛ patients with obvious changes in their appearance expectation; Patient with severe gumminess more than 5 mm؛ Patients with neuromuscular disorders؛ Patients with extracted molars؛ Patients with severe crowding more than 6 mm in each jaw؛ Patients with decreased or increased incisal angle more than 5 degrees in upper and lower jaw.
