Comparing the effect of two methods of group education and education by multimedia compact disk on mothers’ knowledge and attitude about child sexual abuse
The present study is a clinical trial which is conducted on two groups of group education and education using multimedia compact disk (CD). Study environment for this study is 6 health centers of Isfahan city. The sample size for both groups was calculated to be 88 (with an accuracy of 0.6 and confidence interval of 95%); but considering the chance of sample loss, sample size was increased to 100. The inclusion criteria were being the mother of a child of fewer than 18; not having college degrees in medical, paramedical and psychological majors; being literate and able to use CD and computer; and not having passed any educational courses about sexual education and preventing sexual abuse in the past. The exclusion criteria were not participating in all the conducted educational sessions for the education group; not using the CD or reviewing it incompletely; and unwillingness to continue the study. Training is done in two different groups, group education and education using multimedia CD. Training for group education is conducted in two sessions. Data gathering tool is a researcher-made questionnaire that is filled by the participants at two stages (before and one month after the intervention). Then, mothers’ knowledge and attitude are compared before and after the intervention.
