The presented research is single blind semi-experimental study. statistical presenter will not be informed of the relations between codes and groups.
The study determined the effect of media's education on pre-operative anxiety & post-operative pulmonary condition on 64 candidates patient who will be gone under open heart surgery in mashhad's emam reza hospital on year 2016.
inclusion criteria: patient's age should range between 18-64; able to convey speech & communication; no medical history of previous heart surgery; no medical history of any sort of pulmonary disease prior to operation; no medical history of mental disorders or gone under severe stressful condition in last 6 month prior to operation.
Exclusion criteria: patients requiring cardiopulmonary resuscitation; ventricular tachycardia or ventricular fibrillation after surgery; lack of desire to continue cooperation in the project; cardiogenic pulmonary edema (According to the doctor); Severe pleural effusion (according to the doctor); pulmonary embolism. candidates will be divided intentionally( non-randomized) in to 2 groups( control & intervention)
but the begging of allocating will be specified by random.
in control group patient's education will be done by pamphlet & face to face method before surgery while in intervention group patient's education will be done by showing educational videos.
in both groups patient's level of anxiety will be evaluate once before performing the educational method and once before the start of operation. also in both groups respiratory condition will be checked once before performing the educational method and once after 24 hrs of extubation. In both groups respiratory condition before and after surgery, anxiety before and after trainings will be checked before the patient’s entrance to the Operation Room.
