The present study aims to evaluate the effect of patient handling education on knowledge and practice of nursing staff in Shiraz.
A randomized clinical trial conducts on nurses in Intensive Care Units of hospitals affiliated to Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. 100 nurses will be selected using multi- stage sampling. Samples will be divided randomly into control and intervention groups. Knowledge and practice of participants will be evaluated using researcher-made questionnaire and checklist, respectively. At the first step, questionnaire and checklists are completed by two groups. After this step, 5 theoretical and practical sessions (each session lasts 4 hours) of patient handling and body mechanics training are held for intervention group. After 6 weeks, we will evaluate knowledge and practice of personnel.
