Objectives: investigation of the effect of Sahrmann exercises on lumbo-pelvic motor control, balance, pain and disability in chronic low back pain patients with rotation-extension syndrome. Design: in this randomized controlled trial study (phase 2), patients were selected through nonprobability simple sampling and were assigned randomly to 2 groups by using consecutive assignment, Sahrmann exercises group and control group. Setting: this randomized clinical trial was performed in Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, from 22-10-2016 to 11-02-2017. Inclusion criteria: chronic pain located between costal margin to gluteal fold with or without radiation to lower limb, age between 18 to 50 years old and positive lumbar rotation-extension syndrome according to diagnostice tests. Exclusion criteria: pregnancy, vertebral fracture, vestibular system disorders. Sample size: 30 subjects (15 person in each group). Intervention group: Sahrmann exercises for 4 weeks, 3 days per week, Control group: electrotherapy (Trans Cutaneous Electrical Neuromuscular Stimulation device, UltraSound, HotPack) for 4 weeks, 3 days per week. Outcomes: variables were include of lumbo-pelvic motor control, balance, pain and disability that measured one day before of the intervension and one day after the intervention. The lumbo-pelvic motor control measured using pressure biofeedback, balance measured using biodex, the pain measured using Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and the disability measured using Oswestry Disability Index (ODI).
