Clinical trial of comparing the effects of face to face counseling and telephone counseling on knowledge and attitudes to child adoption in infertile couples.
Although accepting adoption of numerous strategies to deal with the negative consequences of infertility, but the knowledge and desire of infertile couples to adopt foster children is low. Child adoption can reduce a lot of negative effects of infertility in couples' life, so this study is comparing the effect of face to face counseling and telephone counseling on knowledge and attitudes to child adoption in infertile couples.
To do this quasi-experimental study, 34 infertile couples of patients of Mashhad Infertility Center are selected by convenience sampling. The couples are selected, are from patients who have five years’ infertility and no living child. Couples randomly assigned in two groups: face to face and telephone counseling. It is not done in this study blinding. Both groups will receive three to four and 60 to 90 minutes’ sessions of counseling. Telephone counseling will have done by iPhone. Infertile couples complete the questionnaires designed by the researchers' “knowledge and attitudes to adoption questionnaire” and “infertility questionnaire” before and after the intervention.

Inclusion/Exclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: At least five years past from their infertility diagnosis; They do not have any live child; At least one of them has over 30 years; The couple have completed Informed consent to participate in research; They have not attempt to adopted acceptance in the past; They did not experience major stressful event in six months before. Exclusion criteria: They do not want to continue the participation in research; Each of couples do not participate in more than one counseling sessions.
