The aim of this study is to evaluate The Effect of Education Based on social cognitive theory constructs on hand washing in elementary School girls in Mashhad. In this semi-experimental study, 68 elementary students from Two elementary schools, were divided into two groups of experimental and control group, according to random sampling.(34 in experimental group and 34 in control group)
Inclusion criteria: Willingness to participate in the study; being a student of the third Grade.
Exclusion criteria:The absence from the training session.
Data were collected by researcher-made questionnaire included questions about demographics and constructs of social cognitive theory on hand washing.
Theory-based education is performed for intervention group in 3 educational sessions (a total of 120 minutes). questionnaires were completed before training and 3 months later followed up and the results were compared to those of control group.
Main outcome measure :Change in hand washing behavior.
