Comparison of the effects of role playing and feedback lecture educational methods on midwifery students’ attitude and practice toward ethical and legal principles of health services recipients' rights.
The aim of this study was comparison of the effects of role playing and feedback lecture educational methods on midwifery students’ attitude and performance toward ethical and legal principles of health services recipients' rights. Design: This was an interventional study with a pretest-posttest the two groups. Procedure: The study population includes 65 midwifery students who were randomly divided in two groups; two intervention groups, under educational methods were role playing and feedback lecture for 4 hours. The two intervention groups for 4 hours, under the instruction were using role playing and Feedback Lecture. Midwifery students' attitude toward ethical and legal principles of health services recipients' rights was evaluated by applying validated attitude questionnaire before and two weeks after training and midwifery students' performance toward ethical and legal principles of health services recipients' rights was evaluated by trained raters using objective structured clinical evaluation in 3 stations by applying validated check lists before and two weeks after education. Inclusion criteria: experience of presence in health services centers as a trainee; lack of personal history of dealing with the legal issues related to the profession of midwifery. Exclusion criteria: lack of participation in the workshop; with the theme of ethical and legal principles of patients' rights. Intervention: the intervention in this study was training intervention by using role playing and feedback lecture educational methods. Main outcome variables also included attitude and performance.

Inclusion criteria: has consent to participate in the study; has experience of presence in health services centers as a trainee; lack of personal history of dealing with the legal issues related to the profession of midwifery; lack of participation in the workshop. Excluding criteria: has not participated in class and workshop related to the study and or more than half an hour has been absent; participating in a similar training course concurrent with this study; refusal and lack of interest in continue working by the person.
