This parallel clinical trial study aims to determine the effect of Reiki energy therapy on pain after coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG). After obtaining ethical approval from the Research Ethics Committee of the Zabol University of Medical Sciences and offering it to the Zahedan University of Medical Sciences authorities, the eligible patients will randomly be assigned into two groups as a treatment group and a control group. The treatment group will be under a session of 12-15 minute Reiki energy therapy. However, the control group will receive a session of a 12-15 minute sham Reiki. In sham reiki the practitioner only will pretend transferring energy to the patients. The inclusion and exclusion criteria are : aged between 40 - 70 years old; no addiction to drugs or alcohol; no history diabetes mellitus or diabetic patients with history of diabetes less than 15 years; no chronic pain, no history of severe vision defects, absence of obvious mental problems and no history of mammary artery surgery. The pain intensity will be measured before and after deep breathing and coughing intervention (10-15 minutes). Pain in the chest and legs will the dependent variables and receiving Reiki energy will be the independent variable.

Description
Reiki energy for treatment group:
Reiki's energy therapy through healer hands without touching the patients body will be transmitted to the heart and root charas and aura for a session of 12-15 minutes after encouraging the patient for doing deep breathing and coughing.
