The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of hospital incident command system on hospital preparedness of the NAJA in response to events using the simulated disasters. Methods: this was a quasi-experimental intervention study. The study population included all managers (male and female) in the Valiasr and Imam Saggad Hospitals, Tehran, Iran, who were included in the study using a complete enumeration method. Among 55 participants, 23 were assigned in the control group (Imam Saggad Hospital) and 32 in the intervention group (Valiasr Hospital). First, the level of disaster preparedness in both hospitals was assessed using the Hospital Preparedness Scale (Khanke et al.). Then, the HICS was implemented in the Vaiasr Hospital (intervention), and managers were instructed on the disaster scenario ( in three day) . After one month, the level of preparedness in both hospitals was again measured using the National hospital Preparedness Scale.
