Protocol summary

Summary
In our study, we will try to find a solution to rationalize Dexamethasone prescribing. In this RCT study, Short Messages Sending (SMS) regarding the harms associated with injecting Dexamethasone will be sent to the patients. We also will send one SMS every ten days to the physicians about the percentage of injection form of Dexamethasone in their prescriptions. Methodology: This study will be performed with baseline control group in four phases. In phase one, all previous prescriptions issued in a given period (2016 /20/3 to 2016 /20/ 6) by selected physicians in Daralshafa clinic who had prescribed dexamethasone will be collected. During phase two, SMS associated with the side effects of Dexamethasone will be sent to the patients in the intervention group. Message content will ask patients not to request physicians to prescribe dexamethasone. In phase three, SMSs will be sent to the selected physicians in the intervention group which show the percentage of prescribed dexamethasone in their prescriptions. Finally, statistical analysis of the collected data will be done to determine the effect of the SMS on prescribing Dexamethasone.
