Background: Clinical training is a very important stage in the process of midwifery education. It is valuable to find a solution to maintain and promote sense of students’ belongingness to the clinical settings.
Aims: This study is aimed to investigate the effect of group counseling focused on communication skills on the undergraduate midwifery students’ level of belongingness in clinical practice in the Razi School of Nursing and Midwifery in Kerman Medical University in 2016.
Participants: This study will be done on 52Midwifery students. Including criteria: Midwifery students with normal general health. Exclusion criteria: absence more than two sessions, participating in other counseling sessions.
Design and Methods: This is an interventional study with a pretest-posttest control group design. Pre-test will completed before the intervention and post-test will done one month after the last session. Adapted version of Levett-Jones et al scale with 32 items will used.
Intervention: The intervention group received eight sessions of group counseling sessions, twice a week.
Primary outcome variables: level of belongingness of Midwifery students.
Data will be analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired t test and Chi-square with SPSS - 22.
