Protocol summary

Summary
(1)Objectives: The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of the interprofessional education of medication safety and reducing medication errors in the ICU (2) Design: The study will be conducted in a semi-experimental (single phase, pre and post) in 2017. The sampling was convenience and consisted of 50 physicians and nurses who working in the intensive care unit of teaching hospitals affiliated to Isfahan University of Medical Sciences. (3) Setting and conduct: (4) Participants including major eligibility criteria: Inclusion criteria: Agree to the heads and staff of Hospital to participate in the study; Experience of at least one month in the intensive care units. Exclusion criteria: Unwillingness to continue cooperation at each stage of the research. (5) Intervention: Interprofessional education of medication safety runs in two sessions (11 hours) in the form of workshops, presentation of medication error scenarios and group discussion. (6) Main outcome measures (primary and secondary outcome variables): The main outcome is the study of medication error indicators, which is measured using the questionnaire before and one month after the program implementation.
