Objective: Determining the Effect of Simulation Based Education on Knowledge and Performance of Adult Basic Pulmonary Recovery in Nursing Students.
Study design: An experimental study with a pre-test and post-test design with a blind and randomized group.
Study population: All six semester undergraduate students at nursing faculty of Iran University of Medical Sciences.
Exclusion criteria: No attendance at any of the training sessions.
Summary of the study:
Intervention:
1-Explaining the method of work and obtaining written consent.
2-Accidental division of two six semester classes into two groups of intervention and control.
3-Complete demographic information form and Knowledge Survey on adult BLS by each student.
4-Obtain an adult BLS performance test based on an observational checklist as the basic function of students in both groups.
5-Getting the most current adult BLS tutorials using PowerPoint presentations and video projections, training and practice exercises on CPR mannequins by both groups.
6-The simulation-based group students, after receiving a common training, are trained on the CPR training mannequins for 30 minutes based on the two defined BLS scenarios, and they are trained in 3-person training. Then, in groups of 3, they will practice for 5 minutes and then they will conduct a five-minute analysis of their performance by directing the researcher. Immediately and 3 months after the intervention, a post-test is used to assess the knowledge and performance of adult BLS from both groups of students.

5-Students of this group after training at the College Clinical Skills, Which is simulated to the pre-hospital and hospital setting, Based on the two scenarios described in the pre-hospital and hospital BLS on the CPR training mannequins, they trained for 30 minutes and trained in groups of 3 on the basis of the same scenarios.
6-Then, each student in a group of 3, 5 minutes and a total of 15 minutes to practice, and after completing the training, each of these groups of 3 people for 5-10 minutes will analyze their performance with the guidance of the researcher. . Immediately and 3 months after the intervention, a post-test is used to assess the knowledge and performance of adult BLS.
