The effect of Educational Intervention Based on Social Cognitive Theory on Promoting Knowledge and usage of personal protective equipment among Aluminum factory workers
The aim of this study is to determine the effect of Educational Intervention Based on Social Cognitive Theory on Promoting Knowledge and usage of personal protective equipment in Workers Employed by Iran Aluminum Company.
Design
In this study, 188 employees of Iran Aluminum Company who are eligible to enter the study are selected. The participants were randomly divided into intervention and control groups and provided training for the intervention group.
Settings and conduct
Educational intervention takes place at the Iran Aluminum Company. The instrument of this study was a researcher-made questionnaire based on the constructs of the Social Cognitive Theory Model (S C T), which included questions about demographic information, questions about knowledge, questions about the self-made questionnaire, and questions about performance that are completed by both intervention and comparison groups.
Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Worker satisfaction to participate in the study and Having fixed work in the company. Exclusion criteria: The presence of occupational disease during the study; The inability of workers to participate in the study; The lack of interest of workers in participating in the study
Intervention groups
The present study is a semi-experimental intervention with two intervention and control groups. After filling in the questionnaire by individuals, the interventions are conducted through verbal training within 1 month and 4 training sessions as group training. Six months after the completion of the training for the intervention group, the questionnaires will be filled again by the intervention and control groups and the results will be compared.
Main outcome variables
After the intervention, the awareness of the workers in the intervention group about the use of personal protective equipment and how to use those devices has changed.

In this study sampling method is simple random method.In this way, a list of 2700 workers will be provided and 188 employees will be randomly selected from this list, and then 188 people will be randomly assigned to two groups of 94 (intervention and control). Blinding is not done in this study.
