Assessing the influence of prayer on mortality rate and severity of patients general condition in critically ill patients hospitalized in intensive unit of Baqiyatallah Azam Hospital
Subjects will be divided in two nonrandomized groups. 70 patients will be recruited from Baqiyatallah Hospital ICU. This study aims to assess the influence of praying on mortality rate and severity of patients general condition in critically ill patients hospitalized in intensive unit of Baqiyatallah Azam Hospital 1388-1389. In the intervention group patients will receive 3 days of praying via a cassette player and they should repeat after the recorded prayer. Patient’s general condition will be assessed using SOFA and APACHEII scores. The assessments will be carried out on admission day and second and third day of stay. The results will be compared in the two groups. In this study patients having COPD or Congestive Heart Failure will be included and those having surgery or psychiatric disease will be excluded.
