Study aim
This study has investigated the Effectiveness of Teaching Social and Cognitive-Emotional Skills on Reducing the Attitude toward Violent Behaviors of High School Students
Design
The design of this study was experimental using a pre-test and post-test method with a control group.The sampling in the first step was used through multi-level cluster sampling and in the second step, random substitution was used. Also, to increasing the assurance coefficient to control the examines subsidence, twenty students were considered in each group and were distributed in 4 groups by random substitution sampling.
Settings and conduct
First, Interpersonal Violence Questionnaire was administered on students of selected schools in Tehran and Hamadan Provinces. Then 120 students (60 in each Provinces) who were upper of cutting-line we're selected and randomly distributed in the control and experimental groups ( 6 groups with 20 students in each). The cognitive-emotional skills program was performed in 10 sessions (group work sessions lasting 90 minutes)
Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria
Entry requirements: Having a higher grade of the cutting line in an Interpersonal Violence Questionnaire Non-entery conditions : Having a lower grade of the cutting line in an Interpersonal Violence Questionnaire
Intervention groups
Experimental group: Are being trained in social and cognitive-affective skills Control group: They did not receive training
Main outcome variables
Reducing Aggression, Increasing Social Skills, Increasing Cognitive - Affective Skills, Using the skills training to prevent drug therapy and it's side effects

Method of measurement
To measure the level of problem solving, effective relationships, self-awareness, empathy with others and coping with stress, from Bar- On Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQ-i); the anger control skill from Effective Control Scale (ECS); and the Conflict Resolution skill from the Second Edition Rahim Organizational Conflict Inventory- II (ROCI- II) were used.
