Study aim
The effect of pain management on nurses' awareness
Design
This study was performed in three stages: pre-test, test and post-test; First, in the pre-test stage, the performance questionnaire on pain management in infants and children was completed by 30 pediatric nurses and neonatal intensive care.Then, in the testing phase, nurses were randomly divided into control and intervention groups (two groups of 15 people); Using a one-day workshop for 3 hours on pain assessment methods including the physiological, behavioral, and self-reporting methods and pain control were performed using pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods in neonates hospitalized in the neonatal intensive care unit for infants and children.In the post-test phase, one month later, the researcher evaluated the awareness questionnaire on pain control in the intervention and control group
Settings and conduct
The present study is a quasi-experimental pre-test-posttest test that was performed on 30 nurses working in the neonatal and pediatric intensive care units of Motahhari Educational Hospital in Jahrom in 2017.
Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria
Entry criteria include:1. Nurses with a university degree in nursing 2. have more than a year of experience in the neonatal and pediatric intensive care unit. Criteria for withdrawal: 1.staff reluctance to participate in research 2.who have undergone pain management over the past year.

First, in the pre-test stage, all pediatric and neonatal intensive care unit nurses were enrolled in the study by census.Then, in the test stage, to divide into two groups of intervention and control, using a table of random numbers in pairs and odd, members of the even group entered the intervention group and individuals of the odd group entered the control group.
