Assessment of effect of communication skills training in nurses on patients and their accompanying violence in emergency department of Haftom Tir teaching hospital.
Design
In this randomized clinical trial, all nurses of the Emergency Department of Haftom Tir hospital entered the study. Then, the degree of violence of patients and their companions before and after communication skills training is compared with nurses.
Settings and conduct
This research will be done by randomized clinical trial in the Emergency department of Haftom Tir teaching hospital.
Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria
All nurses who are willing to attend classes are included in the study.Entry requirements:
Having a desire to collaborate in studying at work experience of at least 12 months in Haftom Tir Hospital, Having a bachelor's degree in nursing more Than 4 months ago during a pretest test.
Conditions for not admitting to study:
mental illness, Psychiatric drug, Acute stress in the last six months.
Intervention groups
The intervention is training nurses and attending educational classes. Nurses are asked to complete the questionnaire in two steps before and after training.
Main outcome variables
Outcome variables are verbal misconduct, physical assault, psychological violence (threat), sexual violence, racial violence.

Description
Intervention group: The intervention is training nurses and attending educational classes. Training in 5 sessions will be held by an experienced psychologist. The duration of each session is 2 hours and the content will powered by PowerPoint. Nurses are asked to complete the questionnaire in two steps before and after training.
