Comparing the effectiveness of psychological capital therapy and cognitive- behavior therapy on depression symptoms
Design
Clinical trials with control group, randomized to 45 patients. Simple randomization was performed based on the Rank Excel function
Settings and conduct
on the effectiveness of depression treatments. It was done in Isfahan. All three groups were initially assessed for depression and psychological capital by Beck Depression Scale and McGee Psychological Capital. The treatment groups were treated for eight weeks. The final three groups were re-evaluated for depression and psychological capital
Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria
adults with mild to moderate depression.
Inclusion criteria were age over years, diagnosis of unipolar depression disorder based on DSM-IV criteria, ability to read and write, and normal intelligence. Exclusion criteria were those under years of age, criteria for severe depression, more than sessions of absenteeism.
Intervention groups
One group received psychological capital therapy, the other group received cognitive-behavioral therapy, and the third group waited for treatment.

Patients referred to several counseling centers in Isfahan were selected based on the entry and exit criteria of 45 patients who had mild to moderate depressive symptoms. The subjects were randomly assigned to two experimental groups and one control group through statistical software. Each group consisted of 15 people. The first experimental group received behavioral cognitive therapy. The second group received treatment based on psychological capital and the third group remained waiting for treatment.
