The aim of this study was to determine the effect of implementation of evidence-based guidelines to improve the care of newborns admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit at Baqiyatallah hospital in Tehran in 1392. In implementing this research, we will get permission from the hospital staff of Baqiyatallah Hospital. Then, parents' satisfaction from hospital care (using a standard questionnaire developed by the researchers) and the quality of standards of care by nurses of the neonatal intensive care unit (using nursing standards checklist) will be evaluated. At the same time infant’s length of stay and infant’s weight by digital scale will be measured and recorded. Then personnel will be trained about guidelines for evidence-based nursing and accordance with the instructions of the application and registration process during two days for 8 hours. We will emphasize on the importance of implementing these guidelines. Training contents include explaining and defining guidelines for evidence-based nursing, nursing process steps definition and explaining how charting them, explaining types of registering nursing process forms, treatment forms, and nursing care forms. For resolving potential problems in the registration form, again two weeks later, a meeting will be held. Two months after the training instructions and implementing them, the quality of care standards, parental satisfaction, infant’s weight and length of stay will be evaluated. The results will be compared before and after the intervention. Inclusion criteria all nurses working in the NICU at the Baqiyatallah hospital in Tehran. Exclusion criteria included: nurses disagree with continuing cooperation on and not participating of nurses in training programs and infants who have a critical situation.

Inclusion criteria; satisfaction and willingness to cooperate in the investigation, Nurses with bachelors or master's degree in nursing, working in NICU, infants less than 37 weeks of gestational age admitted to the NICU, infants without congenital anomalies or syndromes, infants who are not involved with the long-term effects of the disease, infant's weight less than 2500 g, parents of infants has above standards. Description
