Comparison of the Effect of Glucose and Fructose Ingestion before Exercise on Blood Lactate and Lactate dehydrogenase levels in non-athlete 17-19 years old Young men
Comparison of the effect of glucose and fructose intake before acute physical activity on lactate and lactate dehydrogenase levels in an athlete's blood
Design
Crossover trial without the control group, single blind was performed on 10 students aged 17 to 19 years.
Settings and conduct
Participants in the intervention group, without knowing which supplement to take at each stage, received glucose in one stage and fructose in the second stage, and engaged in strenuous physical activity.
The levels of lactate and lactate dehydrogenase in the subjects were compared after two stages.
This research was performed in the Moein gym of Sistan and Baluchestan University, Zahedan.
Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Being in the age range of 17 to 19 years, having minimal physical activity as a teenager and timely attendance at the physical activity session and blood sampling.
Exclusion criteria: Having cardiovascular disease, diabetes, asthma, history of limb fractures and taking steroid drugs, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, blood pressure.
Intervention groups
The intervention group engaged in intense physical activity in one stage after glucose consumption and in the second stage after fructose consumption.
Main outcome variables
Changes in lactate and lactate dehydrogenase levels after strenuous physical activity following glucose and fructose intake.
