The aim of this semi-experimental before-after trial was to investigate the effect of health belief model in behavioral promotion of urinary infection prevention in pregnant women referred to health centers in Behbahan city and health centers employees. A total of 110 pregnant women and 28 employees of these centers were recruited and then randomly assigned into intervention or control group. The intervention was education of behaviors of urinary infection prevention during pregnancy, susceptibility, severity, benefit,s and perceived barriers by discussion and lectures for women in five sessions. Education was completed with the distribution of educational book among woman. Control group did not receive any intervention. The tool for collection of data was a questionnaire designed according to health belief model, knowledge and behavior which were completed before and after the implementation of the intervention.
