Determining the effect of cognitive-behavioral therapy on suicidal ideation and despair of suicide attempters discharged from educational and medical centers of Urmia University of Medical Sciences in 1399
Design
Experimental study with a control group, with non-blinded parallel groups, randomized on 60 patients. A table of random numbers was used for randomization.
Settings and conduct
The present study is a clinical trial study in which the effect of cognitive-behavioral therapy on suicidal ideation and despair of those who attempted suicide discharged from the educational and medical centers of Urmia University of Medical Sciences will be investigated.
Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria Having a history of suicide at least once; consent to participate in the study;not using other psychotherapy and counseling services during the sessions; not participating in the previous similar study; not having a psychiatric disorder diagnosed by a psychiatrist Physician according to medical record; ability to listen and sit in cognitive-behavioral therapy sessions; age 18 years and older; ability to answer questions
Absence conditions Absence from more than two sessions of treatment
Intervention groups
In this experimental study, 60 people will be selected by available sampling method and then randomly divided into two groups of control and intervention (30 people in each group). This intervention will be in 8 sessions of 90-60 minutes with a frequency of two sessions per week.
Control group: They will not receive any training.
Main outcome variables
Suicidal thoughts and frustration and deprssion of those who attempt suicide

We selected 60 patients from the number of discharged patients using a random number table.
For this, each patient was assigned a two-digit code, then 2 groups were selected randomly using random numbers table by closed eyes. First we assigned the selected numbers to the first group, then to the second.
