Objective: determining the effect of acupressure on chest pain severity in patients with unstable angina
Study design: randomized
Main inclusion criteria: the first time of unstable angina; communication ability
Main exclusion criteria: previous history of acupuncture and acupressure; addiction; having cutaneous lesion on acupressure points; diabetes disease
Sample size: 80
Interventions: acupressure on pc4 and pc6 points
Intervention time: 5 minutes
Study outcome: chest pain severity
Method: for performing the study, the research samples placed randomized to one of following group. First group:at the same time applying pressure on true pc4 and false pc6 acupressure points. Second group: at the same time applying pressure on true pc6 and false pc4 acupressure points.Third group: at the same time applying pressure on true pc4 and pc6 acupressure points. Fourth group: at the same time applying pressure on false pc4 and pc6 points. Before of intervention the chest pain severity measure by visual analog scale, then 5 minute after applying intervention, chest pain re measured. Finally the data analyzed.
