Protocol summary

Summary
The purpose of this study was to determine the efficacy of nurses and peer-based training on stress mothers of children with chronic diseases. Inclusion criteria included: children with chronic diseases (asthma; nephrotic syndrome, diabetes) which is at least 72-48 hours of the child's diagnosis, the mother's desire to participate in the study of physical and mental health of the mother lack of addiction to drugs or substances, not having other children with chronic diseases and absence of previous hospitalization for children in hospital, mothers are literate or educated at least someone in the family, mothers who score higher than normal stress is liable and exclusion criteria for the mother during this stressful event (such as death of a spouse, according to the mother, death of a child, divorce, accident, etc.), worsening child disease during the study) stay in ICU ), unwillingness of parents to continue to participate in training. The study population are the mothers of children with chronic diseases to their children in different parts of the city Amirkola Shafizadeh pediatric hospital in the province have been hospitalized. This clinical trial is a form of pre-test - post-test conducted on 60 mothers of children with chronic diseases (asthma - nephrotic syndrome - diabetes) and their children in the Children's Hospital of Shafizadeh all have been hospitalized after obtaining informed consent will be done. Mothers eligible for the inventory levels of parental stress (PSI) will be filled and then divided into two groups with two types of training and education for the second time to complete the questionnaire PSI.measured.

Description
The Department of Education for parents by parents who have children were hospitalized due to similar disease in these areas is given. Education, three parents (for each disease, a parent education) volunteers who are the same conditions used. Parent education, parent's physical presence and is controlled by the researcher. Peer education to help parents talk and Q & A session for 30 minutes in a quiet area in three falls. Immediately after the intervention, educational groups completed a questionnaire to assess stress levels become parents
