The aim of this study was comparison of the effect of two suturing methods on shrinkage of free gingival graft. The study population was the patients referred to kerman Dental School and needed gingival augmentation on canine or premolar teeth bilaterally. 10 patients were included in the study. The inclusion criteria were lack of systemic diseases, no smoking, not to take the medications affected on periodontium such as nifedipine. The width of attached and keratinized gingival, and probing depth were measured at baseline. With throwing coin, the control and test sites were determined. Free gingival graft was performed on both control and test sites. After placing the graft on the bed, in control sites, interrupted and circumferential sutures were utilized. In test sides, other than these sutures, apical stretching and horizontal continuous sutures were used. After 1, 3, and 6 months, measurements were recorded again.
